Ethernet data logging on NL116: missing records for fast scan rates

Carole Feb 22, 2017 03:10 PM

Good afternoon,

I hope someone will be able to help me with this before I lose the will to live!

I am reading data from a Licor 7700 fast methane analyser (set to output data at 20 Hz) into a CR3000 logger using the ethernet port on the NL116 module. All is well for scan rates > 400 ms but below that threshold, records go missing periodically (the serial buffer is empty when that happens). I originally thought that it was writing to the flash card which caused problems, but I get the same issue even when I don't call a table. I am also logging a Campbell IRGASON at 20 Hz via SDM and that performs just fine for the scan rates tested (minimum 50 ms).

I've tested the logging of the Li7700 at 20 Hz on a laptop and I've never had any empty records.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Carole
