Overview

Campbell Scientific's NL200 is a powerful network link interface that provides a wired Ethernet network connection to dataloggers and peripherals. It allows our dataloggers, as well as other serial devices, to communicate over a local area network or a dedicated Internet connection. Additionally, the NL200 supports sophisticated networking capabilities, especially when used in PakBus networks with PakBus devices. For example, with the NL200, multiple PakBus clients can be connected to a single datalogger at the same time. Read More

Technical Description

The NL200 Network Link Interface allows Campbell Scientific dataloggers to communicate over a local area network or a dedicated Internet connection. This Ethernet interface can be connected to either the datalogger’s CS I/O port or RS-232 port.

The NL200 Network Link Interface is a device used to communicate with Campbell Scientific dataloggers and peripherals using an Ethernet 10/100 Mbps communications link. The NL200 includes a CS I/O port and a RS-232 port for communication. A USB device port is used for configuring the NL200 device.

The NL200 can be configured to bridge Ethernet and CS I/O communications allowing access to the internal IP functionality of the CR800/850, CR1000, and CR3000 (e.g., web page access, email, FTP). Alternatively, the NL200 can be configured to act as a Serial Server and/or a PakBus Router. Additionally, the NL200 can act as TLS Proxy Server.

Notes:
* Although compatible, the CR9000X does not need an Ethernet interface because it has an on-board Ethernet port.
** It is possible to use an NL200 to connect to a mixed-array data logger (e.g., CR10, CR10X, CR23X, 21X, CR7) by using an SC32B between the data logger's CS I/O port and the NL200's RS-232 port.
