The BWS-200 automatic weather station offers reliable, autonomous weather monitoring.
Fully Configured Research Grade Weather Station
The standard BWS-200 is a fully configured, solar powered, automated weather station; it consists of a weatherproof enclosure which contains a highly reliable Campbell Scientific datalogger and power pack, charged by the integral solar panel*.
The weather station also comes equipped with a standard set of sensors covering: Air Temperature, Relative Humidity, Wind Speed and Wind Direction. The datalogger is pre-programmed for the sensors supplied which means that the weather station is ready to start taking measurements virtually out of the box. Additional sensors for solar radiation and rainfall can be added as options.
It is designed for long term unmanned or unattended operation and is ideal for meteorological, weather monitoring and climate study applications.
Communications
A choice of communication options are available including GSM and GPRS, fixed line phone, short haul modem, direct RS232 connection or satellite. Alternatively a wireless variant is available - see below:
Wireless Weather Station
We offer a variant of the BWS-200 weather station which includes an integrated 2.4GHz radio for communicating data wirelessly back to a PC or for communicating to the datalogger remotely.*
Both versions can calculate Evapotranspiration (ETo) with the addition of a CS300 pyranometer.
A range of mounting options are available from Campbell Scientific. Alternatively you may prefer to use your own mounting solution.
** Additional power may be required where radio communications exceed once a day, for continuous communication connection or where solar panel is obscured or effectiveness reduced by latitude. Radio: line-of-sight up to 1km. Please call for more details.
