Port of Tyne - Weather Monitoring

In an effort to provide more reliable weather information to ships' captains and crane operators, the Port of Tyne added two new weather stations to its already existing station. Every half hour (or on demand, if required) the stations transfer data to the port's computer network. The stations provide far better information than what was available previously to assist the captains of incoming and outgoing ships, as well as crane operators.
