 | NEW SENSOR FOR WEATHER MONITORING
Campbell Scientific have launched a new Temperature and Relative Humidity probe – the CS215 – that incorporates the features that you would expect to find in the Campbell range, such as low power consumption, simple programming through the datalogger and a digital SDI-12 output allowing increased cable lengths and multiple probe connection to a single SDI-12 port on a Campbell datalogger.
The CS215 utilises a novel, Swiss-made digital humidity and temperature element that provides good measurement accuracy and stability. The elements are based on CMOSens® technology, which have been tested by the manufacturer over a period of years in Alpine conditions, where they were shown to work to their specifications in extreme weather.
One major benefit of the CS215 is the ability to change the sensor element in the field. Each sensor element is individually calibrated so no further adjustment of the probe is required; simply changing the element returns the probe to factory calibration state for both temperature and humidity, allowing low-cost field recalibration without lengthy interruptions to data collection.
The CS215 is a cost-effective probe for a variety of applications, including weather stations, environmental monitoring and control and moisture monitoring in building materials.
