Time variable in image URL in RTMCPro

ScottB Oct 15, 2012 12:52 AM

Hi,

I want to display a series of images in RTMCPro that are on a web site. I can use the new URL specifier in the image object but the images on the web site change daily (they are weather forecasts) where the image name has the date (year and day) as part of the image URL.

is there anyway of creating a URL using date/time variables in RTMCPro ??

here is what one looks like:

http://www.bom.gov.au/fwo/IDY00061/IDYAA005.qld1.20121016_0600.png

where '20121016_0600' is the UTC year (2012), month (10) and day (16) and UTC time (0600) of the forecast.

Thanks,

Scott.

You can use a wildcard (*), but there isn't a way to use a format code for date/time.

Thanks Dana, I have written a simple java program that downloads the images to a local directory and renames them to a consistant set of names which RTMCPro picks up.

Cheers,

Scott.

Hi,

Since the 5.0 RTMC Pro upgrade, wildcard * no longer works (It works great with the previous RTMC Pro version).

And lot of my RTMC scripts crashes after 30 seconds since the update.

If you have a solution.

Best regards,

J-B
