CR1000x acting as a modbus slave and acquiring data from modbus sensors

Hi,

My question is if a CR1000X logger running as a modbus slave can use the modbusmaster() command within its program to aquire data from modbus RTU device? Or is it the case that the logger can only acquire analog measurements when operating as a slave?

I'm aware that a modbus RTU network can only have one master, so I imagine the answer to my question is no, but I'm hoping it's somehow possible.
