Has anyone tried the new PortBridge() function in the CR300 OS 10.02?

Has anyone tried the new PortBridge() function in the CR300 OS 10.02? I'm trying to figure out whether the function can be used to remotely connect to sensors which feature a RS232 port for configuration.

I have a CR300 with integrated modem and a simcard with a fixed, public IP. I've sucessfully bridged the ComRS232 port with an IP port, configuring the serial communication in Ascii mode (format 0). Using this (https://www.eltima.com/products/serial-over-ethernet/) software to configure a virtual COM port in Windows 10 pointing at the CR300 IP address, I can send Ascii messages back and forth between the virtual (IP) comport and the hardware comport on the logger. The connection is good and the bridging works!

Switching the serial communication to binary mode (format 3) does not seem to work however. Connection attempts to RS232 sensors fail, and looking at the output af the PortBridge function, I get a lot of negative send byte increments indicating transmit failures. I've tried to play around with baud rates and buffer sizes, but nothing seems to work.

As a troubleshooting step I tried to connect to an old CR800 logger through the bridged connection. Changing serial comminucation to format mode 4 (PackBus), Device Configuration Utility was able to locate the CR800 though the bridged connection, but failed when loading settings with "packbus framing error".

Has anyone tried playing around with the PortBridge() function? Any ideas?
